Kane County residents may recycle paint and home coatings, through a new program offering 16 retail drop-off sites in and near the county. The program accepts all types of house paint, including latex and oil. The sites also accept wood stains, floor coatings and sealants/resins.
There is no fee to drop off materials, but a quantity limit of five gallons per visit applies, with one visit per household per day. Commercial painters and businesses may use the drop-offs, following the same limits. For larger volumes—over 100 gallons, participants can arrange a special large-volume pickup.
