The Kane County Department of Transportation will be working on two projects this week, the first is pouring new wearing surface on the Fabyan Parkway bridge. Traffic will be reduced to one lane on the Fabyan Parkway Bridge on Wednesday, August 21 from 5:30 AM - 4:00 PM. This is part of the bridge rehabilitation work which also includes light pole cleaning and painting, and bridge structural repair and maintenance. The project is being constructed in multiple stages with an anticipated completion date of December 2019, weather permitting.
The second project is a highway safety improvement program taking place from Kirk Road - IL 56 to Cherry Lane. On Friday August 23 and Saturday August 24, from 5:00 AM - 5:00 PM, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction on Kirk Road from IL Route 38 to Fabyan Parkway. This will allow crews to safely place a high friction asphalt surface at the intersection of Kirk Road and Cherry Lane. This project is anticipated to be completed in fall 2019, weather permitting.
