Goal and Objectives:

• Developing, maintaining, and operating the city's outdoor warning siren system.

• Educating the public on steps they can take to protect themselves from the effects of disasters.

• Developing and conducting emergency management training and education programs for city personnel and citizens.

• Coordinating with private relief agencies to ensure the provision of relief supplies.

• Assessment of potential hazards and notification of city officials.

• Support of the Incident Command System at a scene of an emergency or disaster.

• Assisting in the development of media information regarding incidents.

• Coordination of emergency lighting or electric generation at incident sites.

• Assisting all city departments as needed at incident sites.

• Managing the City's emergency supplies inventory and providing back-up communications systems.
