The City provides electrical service to all City residents. To establish service or to ask questions related to billing, contact the Utility Billing Department at 630-454-2020. Additional information is available on the Web site regarding establishing service and rates.
For outages or service issues, contact the Electric Department at 630-454-2350. Outside of normal business hours, you may also report an outage to the Police Department non-emergency phone at 630-454-2500.
Please note that if you live in a location that is not incorporated within the City of Batavia, then you will obtain electricity from ComEd.
Water and Sewer
The City provides fresh water service and sewer/wastewater service to all City residents. To report a water main break, sewer backup, fire hydrant leak, or for other service issues, contact the Water Department at 630-454-2450. Outside of normal business hours, you may also report a water main break or fire hydrant issue to the Police Department non-emergency phone at 630-454-2500.
The local landline phone company in Batavia is AT&T. For new service, service changes, or problems, contact them at 1-800-244-4444. There are many other options, including a number of cellular phone service companies and Internet-based (Voice over IP, or "VoIP").
The cable television franchise operator is Comcast. For new service, service changes, or problems, contact them at 1-800-COMCAST (1-800-266-2278).
AT&T provides U-verse, a combination of high-speed Internet and television service, in select areas. For more information, availability and ordering, visit their Web site at http://www.att.com.
There are also a number of sources for equipment for satellite-based television service.
Natural gas service is available to all City residents through Nicor. For new service or service changes, contact them at 1-888-Nicor-4U (1-888-642-6748). If you smell natural gas or suspect a gas leak, call 9-1-1 and the Batavia Fire Department will respond. The Fire Department will contact Nicor as necessary for emergency repairs.
The local phone company, AT&T, offers high-speed DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) Internet service for almost all Batavia residents. The cable television utility, Comcast, also offers high-speed Internet service to Batavia residents. Other service providers also offer DSL and dial-up access in Batavia.
There are other technology options as well, including cellular phone service providers, dedicated wireless Internet service providers, and satellite-based Internet services.
