Permits and Application Processing

Permits are required for ANY construction project in the City. This includes, but is not limited to:
  • Building Repairs and Alterations
  • Decks
  • Fences (both new and replacements)
  • Heating, Air Conditioning and Ventalation Systems (Replacement)
  • Pools (above and in-ground)
  • Porches & Sun Rooms
  • Re-roofing
  • Sheds
  • Siding
  • Parking Lot Resurfacing and Restriping 
  • Porches
  • Water Heater Replacement
Cosmetic alterations and repairs DO NOT require permits. This includes but is not limited to:
  • Kitchen / Bath cabinet replacement
  • Installation of brick or concrete patios

Processing Time

The Building Division makes every attempt to process building permit applications as expeditiously as possible. Depending on our workload, residential permit applications will be processed within two weeks of receipt and commercial permit applications within 3 weeks of receipt. A representative from the Building Division will contact the applicant upon review of the application. Your patience and understanding will be appreciated.
