Manager of Electric Operations<\/u><\/b><\/font><\/p> The City of Batavia is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Manager of Electric Operations. This is a supervisory management position in the Electric Department. This is technical and supervisory work assisting the Electric Superintendent in the daily operations of the municipal electric transmission & distribution systems. Work involves directing, supervising, and monitoring the work of subordinates in constructing and maintaining overhead and underground lines and related components, meter installation and maintenance, utility location, and warehouse activities. Duties include exercising initiative and judgment in performing delegated projects and meeting emergency situations. Work includes assisting the Superintendent with developing short and long-term division goals and assisting with preparation of the annual budget. Work is performed under general supervision and is reviewed through conferences, reports, and results obtained. <\/P>\n <\/P>\n Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology and minimum of five (5) years experience directly related to the construction and maintenance of electrical transmission and distribution systems; or completion of an approved electric line worker apprenticeship program and a minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience directly related to the construction and maintenance of electrical transmission and distribution systems; or any equivalent combination of experience and education that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Valid Illinois driver\'s license. An Illinois CDL license is required within 12-months of hire. Twelve (12) mile residency restriction with one (1) year of employment.
