Brush Collection

The next east side brush collection will begin on Monday, October 10; the west side collection begins on Monday, October 17.  Brush should be at the curb by 7 a.m. on Monday of your scheduled week but no sooner than the weekend before that. For more information about the program,including the 2016 schedule, please click here or call 630-454-2400.  

Leaf Collection

The first leaf collection of the season for east side residents will begin on Monday, October 17; the west side leaf collection begins on Monday, October 24.  For additional details about the program, including the 2016 schedule, please click here or call 630-454-2400.  

Parkway Tree Program

There is still time to participate in this year’s 50-50 Fall Parkway Tree Program and several species remain available.  More information about the program can be found on the City’s website or call us at 630-454-2400.  


Kane County Electronics Recycling Program

The Kane County Electronics Recycling Program has resumed and includes three daily drop-off locations throughout the county, as well as the reopening of the one-day collection events in St. Charles.  The closest site for Batavia residents is the former Kane County Jail property at 517 Fabyan Parkway, between Route 25 and Kirk Rd. on the north side of the street.  Most items are still free, but there will be a charge for TVs and computer monitors, depending on the screen size.  Please visit the Kane County Recycles webpage for information about drop off locations, upcoming monthly events, acceptable/unacceptable electronics items, and costs/payment options.  


Drainage Studies Completed

Do you live on the east side of town between Kirk Road & Raddant Road and Pine Street & Giese Road?  Did you know the City hired an engineering consultant, WBK Engineers, to complete a drainage study on the storm sewers to determine the capacity and propose future improvements?  The findings were presented at the August 23rd Committee of the Whole meeting and both the presentation and final report are available for viewing on the project webpage:  http://cityofbatavia.net/655/Ward-I
 
Do you live on the west side of town between IL. Rt. 31 & the abandoned RR tracks to the west and Walnut Street & Garfield Street?  Did you know that the City hired an engineering consultant, Rempe-Sharpe Associates, to complete an investigation to separate the storm sewers from the existing combined sanitary / storm sewer system that is in place and propose future improvements?  The findings were presented at the September 13th Committee of the Whole meeting and both the presentation and final report are available for viewing on the project webpage:  http://cityofbatavia.net/656/Area-2-3
